S C I E N C E and A R T collaboration
Instead of finding that a scientific perspective reduces or demystifies reality, science has always been, to me, a tool to discover the increasing complexity of the world. My work is based on current and recent research that comes to my attention through news and reading. In most cases I've been able to contact researchers in the field, to learn from their vision and individual passion. Some pieces have been commissioned by researchers that want to collaborate in creating a fine art piece that celebrates their work.

In 2005, the piece Hippocampus of transgenic mice where the expression of the activity related gene C-Fos was accompanied with the expression of green fluorescent protein for the study of sensorial learning became the cover for The Journal of Neuroscience (issue of April 27th, 2005).
COMMISSIONS
Many of my pieces have been commissioned to suit a buyer with a
specific budget or site. If you are interested in a style you see here please contact
me, and maybe we
can create something new together!
Residential and Commercial Venues Works have been created for the walls of offices, restaurants, coffeeshops and boutiques. Specific themes can be commissioned.

Neurons - A Circle
(detail) This piece was created to celebrate the academic research of Dr. Robert
Kass and his dedication as Head of the Department of Statistic at Carnegie Mellon University.
The piece consisted of five panels. The three middle rectangular panels show an electrode in warm orange tone surrounded by neurons. These were framed by two vertical panels that showed the representation of the data in mathematical space, constrasting in tone with lots of red. This painting was a joy to create with a depth of texture and extreme contrasts.

Instinct II
A patron was really interested
in Instinct II, that was already sold. They liked the "calm, peaceful,
feeling" of the glowing images. A sister piece was created with
this in mind.
