taking care of your original artwork

Original artwork is both a financial and emotional investment. If cared for properly, oil paintings can last centuries. Here are some basic directions to taking care of your original artwork:
  1. Keep your paintings on dry, normal temperatures walls. Watch out for pipes running through the walls, heater exhausts, etc.

  2. Dust regularly.

  3. Surface may be wiped with a cloth and water. Don't let the canvas saturate with water.

Neurons - A Circle

Neurons This piece was created to celebrate the academic research of Dr. Robert Kass and his dedication as Head of the Department of Statistic at Carnegie Mellon University.

The piece consisted of five panels. The three middle rectangular panels show an electrode in warm orange tone surrounded by neurons. These were framed by two vertical panels that showed the representation of the data in mathematical space, constrasting in tone with lots of red. This painting was a joy to create with a depth of texture and extreme contrasts.

Instinct II

A patron was really interested in Instinct II, that was already sold. They liked the "calm, peaceful, feeling" of the glowing images. A sister piece was created with this in mind.
